Oversees the audit departments of social sector and local self-government entities, as well as the audit departments in the Autonomous Republics of Adjara and Abkhazia.

He has been appointed as the deputy the auditor general since 11 april 2023. 

He headed the Social Sector Audit Department since 2014-2023, and in 2002-2008, he served as Chief Controller in the State Audit Office (the State Controller`s Office).

In 2008-2014, he worked in the Revenue Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, where he headed various structural units.

Zaza Shekiladze has experience working in the banking sector as well. In, 1994-1996, he was the head of Kvareli Branch of JSC AgroMretsvBank, and in 1996-2000, he headed the Gurjaani Regional Branch of JSC United Georgian Bank.

In 1991-1994, Zaza Shekiladze held senior management positions in Kvareli district administration (Deputy Prefect, Deputy Chairman), and in 1988-1991, he was a science worker at the Institute of Economics and Law of the Georgian Academy of Sciences.

In 1980-1985, he studied at the Faculty of Economics, specializing in Finance and Credit at Tbilisi State University, and in 1985-1988, he completed a post-graduate degree in Macroeconomics at the same university.

In addition to native Georgian, he speaks Russian and English.
