WORKSHOP: „POST REVIEW OF WORLD BANK’S PROCUREMENT PROCEDURES“ 11 May, 2017

On April 24-27, 2017, the World Bank organized workshop for the State Audit Office staff on: „Post review of World Bank’s procurement procedures“. The workshop was conducted by the World Bank’s procurement specialist Sandro Nozadze.

The goal of this workshop was to enhance the knowledge of the SAO’s staff in World Bank’s procurement procedures issue in order to jointly implement post review of annual procurement procedures of the World Bank’s financed projects. Post review of procedures was implemented together with the representatives of the World Bank on May 1- 4, 2017 within the framework of which post review of procurement of the different projects financed by the World Bank in various agencies took place.

Reports of post review of procurement carried out within the framework of the World Bank’s financed projects, preparation of tender documents necessary for procurement and tender proposal procedures were discussed at the training. In addition, procurement general regulations and carried out amendments were also discussed at the training.

The same training was conducted in 2015 and 2016 as well and it should be mentioned that the WB is going to provide it every year. The training is a part of the WB’s strategy which implies giving procurement post review function to the State Audit Office and introduction of audit of donor-financed projects in the SAO.
By introduction of audit of donor-financed projects, the SAO, in the future, will provide audit of the financial accounts according to the international standards as well as will ensure post review in regard of legislation and regulating standards.
