WORKSHOP ON CITIZENS ENGAGEMENT IN AUDIT PROCESS 30 January, 2016

Today, on January 29, workshop on citizens’ engagement in audit process took place in the State Audit Office. External experts Amitabh Mukhopadhyay and representatives of the State Audit Office took part in the meeting.

The meeting focused on the steps forward and initiatives taken by the State Audit Office concerning the improvement of citizens’ engagement in audit process and increase of public awareness. Expert discussed experience of SAIs of Argentina and Chili in regard on the improvement of citizens’ engagement in audit process. These experiences may be taken into account by the State Audit Office while designing citizens’ engagement strategy and action plan.

Example of the South Korean BAI was also discussed at the meeting. Within the framework of the memorandum signed between the World Bank and South Korean BAI, future active cooperation is planned to be held between BAI and State Audit Office.

At the end of the meeting, participants shared ideas and proposals in regard with further improvement of citizens’ engagement in audit process.
