VISIT OF THE INTERNATIONAL MONETARY FUND (IMF) TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE MISSION REPRESENTATIVES TO THE STATE AUDIT OFFICE 19 September, 2017

Today, on September 19, the State Audit Office hosted the International Monetary Fund (IMF) technical assistance mission. The aim of the visit was to evaluate fiscal transparency in Georgia and issue relevant recommendations.

Management of public finances issues, fiscal transparency and fiscal rules were discussed within the framework of the meeting. Namely, the parties discussed systemic gaps of the SAO budget reports and performance audit. Moreover, discussion also focused on the recommendations issued by the State Audit Office and their implementation.

In addition, the analytical web-platform developed by the State Audit Office - "Budget Monitoring" (www.BudgetMonitor.ge) was presented to the IMF representatives as a tool that promotes the increase of the transparency of public finances management.
