The Auditor General of Georgia delivered a speech at the conference dedicated to the celebration of the 95th Anniversary of the State Audit Office of the Republic of Latvia. Irakli Mekvabishvili emphasized the importance of cooperation, notably sharing experience with the State Audit Office of Latvia and welcomed initiatives to deepen bilateral as well as multilateral cooperation.
"Together with the SAO of Latvia, we have conducted joint seminars in the course of the pilot audits. The expertise and knowledge of our Latvian colleagues has played significant role for introducing advanced audit methodology”, "said Irakli Mekvabishvili.
Georgia and Latvia have been cooperating within the framework of the Eastern Partnership – EaP format and have been jointly implementing the project "Enhancing of the external audit role". Georgia expressed its readiness to engage in the continuing projects this year as well that will be focused on the institutional strengthening and sharing best practices of SAIs.
Delegations and Auditors General of the Supreme Audit Institutions of Estonia, Serbia, Moldova and Ukraine attended the Conference dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the State Audit Office of the Republic of Latvia.
