On January 20, the State Audit Office hosted the anti-corruption alliance delegation of the Republic of Moldova. Moldovan anti-corruption alliance consolidates NGOs, which actively work on anti-corruption issues in different directions: state procurement, healthcare, education and etc. The visit of the delegation was carried out with the support of the UN “Democratic Fund.”
Within the framework of the visit, members of the delegation got acquainted with the institutional reforms made in the State Audit Office, role of the Office in the development and implementation of the anti-corruption strategy, the progress achieved in the issue of the carrying out of recommendations made by the OECD-ACN, the State Audit Office cooperation “Group of States against corruption” within the framework of anti-corruption policy (GRECO), institutional mechanisms of fight with corruption, challenges of the State Audit Office – introduction of IT audit (Informational Technologies, promotion of the implementation of recommendations made by the State Audit Office to the audite, support of the current reform of the internal financial control and internal audit systems in the public sector) as well as the events, planned within the national anti-corruption strategy framework during 2014-2017.
Members of the anti-corruption alliance of Moldova became interested with the anti-corruption measures taken by the State Audit Office; expressed their readiness to take into account the experience of the Office in the development and implementation of the national anti-corruption strategy and expressed their wish to continue further bilateral cooperation.
