The State Audit Office starts conducting performance audit of the second year of the “Secondary Road Asset Management Project“ (SRAMP), funded by the World Bank.
The audit envisages a study of various technical issues, along with the inspection of interim financial reports (IFR), to verify the expenses incurred within the project.
Together with the auditors, experts with high qualification in the relevant field will be involved in the audit process.
The SRAMP project aims at improving social services and markets for road users and strengthen secondary roads network management capabilities through the rehabilitation and maintenance of secondary roads in Racha-Lechkhumi, Mtskheta-Mtianeti, Shida Kartli and Guria regions.
The audit covers the period from January 1 to December 31, 2018.
The SRAMP is a World Bank\'s Project and is implemented by the Roads Department of Georgia (RD).
The State Audit Office and the Roads Department signed a Memorandum of Mutual Understanding on technical issues necessary for conducting the audit.
The State Audit Office conducted Performance Audit of the SRAMP last year for the first time following the request of the World Bank and the Roads Department of Georgia.
According to the Loan Agreement signed on March 28, 2016 between Bank of Georgia and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD), SRAMP assessment and approval of the achieved results must be carried out annually by the independent audit according to the the technical terms of the World Bank.
