At the State Audit Office, Ambassador of the European Union to Georgia HE Amb Mr Pawel Herczynski had an introductory meeting with the Auditor General Tsotne Kavlashvili.
The Auditor General presented the results of the assessment of the State Audit Office (SAI-PMF) to the Head of the European Union Representation and acknowledged the support of the European Union in the process of institutional development.
The State Audit Office has implemented number of projects for strengthening of institutional development and fostering international standards of Supreme Audit Institutions, funded by the European Union.
SAI-PMF repeated assessment has been carried out with the support of the SIGMA project of the European Union and Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).
Tsotne Kavlashvili discussed with Amb Pawel Herczynski prospective plans and expressed his hope for the support of the European Union in this process.
On his part, the Ambassador of the EU stated their readiness for supporting the State Audit Office and considering upcoming projects for common cooperation.
The meeting has also been attended by the Deputy Auditor General Eka Ghazadze and the Head of Donor Relations Nino Kereselidze, and from the EU’s side Colombe De Mercey, Team Leader, Governance and Human Capital at the EU Delegation to Georgia.
