Sustainable Development Goals - INTOSAI IDI meeting in China 30 May, 2018

Representatives of the State Audit Office took part in the workshop on “Performance audit on preparedness for implementation of SDGs” held in Nanjing, China.  

The meeting was held within the framework of the INTOSAI IDI project, which was also related to the  “Performance audit on preparedness for implementation of SDGs”.

Within the audit, supreme audit institutions have been studying whether the government took appropriate measures/activities or not and, consequently, how well was it prepared for the implementation of goals. Besides the State Audit Office, up to 70 other supreme audit institutions took part in the program.

International experts and representatives of INTOSAI IDI, US Government Accountability Office (GAO), UN Economic and Social Affairs Department (UNDESA) and various Audit Institutions took part in the workshops.

Participants of the meeting were obliged to hold presentations on the draft report of the Performance Audit on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by the Government. The drafts were assessed by relevant experts and mentors; in addition, the countries introduced the findings and recommendations to each other revealed during the audit process; recommendations of INTOSAI IDI experts and mentors on  further improvement of reports were approved.

The workshop of such format on “Performance audit on preparedness for implementation of SDGs” was carried out for the second time. INTOSAI IDI uses this format to help the UN member countries to promote the implementation of SDGs and effectively carry out of their activities.
