Supported by the World Bank, the State Audit Office has implemented IT Audit Project 18 July, 2019

In the scope of the project financed by the World Bank, the IT Audit has been introduced at the State Audit Office. Four IT audits were conducted, covering education and healthcare spheres. In the current year, IT Audit areas will be expended.

IT Audit Development Project at the State Audit Office entailed technical development and improvement of IT auditors’ professional skills.

Within the framework of the project, the infrastructure needed for the IT audit and the data center for processing and analyzing large volume data has been built. Furthermore, the office purchased specialized audit software.
Regarding professional capacity, IT auditors have attended training programs and earned relevant certificates.

Together with the International Audit Company – Deloitte, IT audit and quality control manuals, IT audit professional development plan has been prepared. Following the project, the cooperation with the U.S Government Accountabiliy Office (GAO) has commenced, which will involve elaboration of training programmes.

The closing of the project has been attended by the MPs, representatives of donor and international organisations: the World Bank, the European Union (EU), the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the German International Development Cooperation (GIZ), the Council of Europe (CoU), and respective guests.
