The State Audit Office submitted reports at the session of the audit reports reviewing working group within the Parliament on the "MIA legal response measures on violation of traffic rules” and “Performance of road safety preventive measures".
The reports include all issues that prevent safe driving in the country including overspeeding or identifying the so called "black dots", the functioning of video surveillance system, deficiencies in the imposition of adequate penalties for drivers who are systematically violating traffic rules, low fines and other technical problems. The report provides specific examples of violators’ actions and further responses.
The report of the State Audit Office also includes recommendations on the measures that will facilitate the traffic safety and change the systemic approach to the problem.
The Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Giorgi Cherkezishvili, the representatives of MIA Patrol Police Department, the Joint Operations Center and Information-Analytical Service, as well as the Head of the City Hall Transport Department and members of the Working Group expressed their opinions regarding the issues and recommendations discussed at the session.
Auditees have fully shared most of the recommendations provided and presented information on the measures to address the gaps in the future.
