State Audit Office reinforces the IT Audit Functions 28 March, 2019

In order to enhance information technology (IT) Audit function, the State Audit Office starts new project with the international audit company - Deloitte & Touche LLC. 

Within the scope of the project, IT auditors of the State Audit Office will study in depth the latest innovations in information technologies and will get introduced to international practices. This study relates to e-governance, such as block chain technology and security controls, and assessing cyber-security risks.

In the framework the project, the manual for IT Audit will be developed, that will facilitate systemization of institutional memory in IT Audit direction.

Having launched the project, Auditor General Irakli Mekvabishvili and the representative of international audit company - Deloitte & Touche Georgia LLC John Robinson signed the agreement.

The role of Information Technology (IT) Audit in Public Sector has increased in relation to the transition to Public Administration E-governance. Together with the British experts, implementation of the project gives the State Audit Office the opportunity to respond to a higher degree of modern audit challenges.

The project copvering the period from April to June is implemented within the framework of World Bank’s Grant "IT Audit Development in State Audit Office", which aims to promote professional development of IT Auditors.
