SEMINAR: „WORLD BANK PROCUREMENT PROCEDURES -- POST REVIEW“ 20 April, 2016

On April 18-20, 2016, seminar on “World Bank procurement procedures -- post review” organized by the World Bank was held for the employees of the State Audit Office. Seminar was conducted by the WB Procurement specialist Sandro Nozadze. 

This seminar was aimed at enhancing the SAO’s staff knowledge in regard of the WB’s procurement procedures in order to jointly carry out post review of the annual procurement of the WB-funded projects. Joint post review procedure is planned to be held on April 27-May 6, 2016. 

Entire cycle of the procurement carried out within the framework of the WB-funded projects was discussed at the seminar, including:  tender documents preparation necessary for the procurement of goods, services and non-advisory service and evaluation of tender bids. In addition, case studies based on the Georgian reality were also discussed.  

Seminar on this issue was held on March 22-26, 2015 and similar seminars are planned to be organized by WB every year for granting this function to the State Audit Office in the future and introducing audit of donor-funded projects in the SAO. 

By introducing audit of donor-funded projects, the SAO will ensure international standards financial statements relevant audit of the projects in the future as well as evaluation of the projects according to the Georgia’s applicable law and regulations.
