The meeting with the NGO sector was held at the State Audit Office.
The management of the State Audit Office introduced the current working process and 2018 plans to the NGO sector representatives.
Auditor General Irakli Mekvabishvili informed the NGOs about the activities of the State Audit Office and reviewed existing challenges. Eka Ghazadze, Deputy Auditor General, held the presentation of one of the SAO’s main directions – Performance Audit.
According to Irakli Mekvabishvili, cooperation with non-governmental sector and active communication is important for the activity of the State Audit Office to keep the information constantly exchanged. "The State Audit Office is absolutely transparent for the society and the information is available to stakeholders," said the Auditor General.
The goal of the meeting was to provide interactive sharing of information and experience with the representatives of NGO sector regarding the activities of the State Audit Office and to discuss existing challenges and views of the future cooperation opportunities.
Representatives of about 20 NGOs attended the meeting.
Meeting was organized by the GIZ program - "Public Finance Management in the South Caucasus" and "Strengthening Institutional Capacity of State Audit Service" project.
