Representatives of the State Audit Office participated in the "the Forum of Supreme Audit Institutions of the Eastern Partnership and EU member states” held in Riga, Latvia 19 December, 2017

State Audit Office Development Strategy was presented at Riga International Forum

Head of the State Budget Analysis and Strategic Planning Department Marika Natsvlishvili and Deputy Head of the Performance Audit Department Giorgi Kapanadze presented "State Audit Office 2018-2022 strategic development plan" to the international experts, mentors and foreign counterparts and shared SAO’s vision for the next five years, including the strengthening of the independence and institutional development, enhancing the role of the SAO in the public finance management sphere by carrying out high-quality audit activity, more engagement of the Parliament, the government and society, introduction of the management system and professional development of staff.

Within the framework of the forum, representatives of the supreme audit institutions of Georgia, Ukraine, Moldova and Serbia were hosted by the President of Latvia Raimonds Vējonis. At the official meeting held at the Riga Castle, principles of the work of the Public Expenditures and Audit Committee of the Saeima, strategic development opportunities of the supreme audit institutions of the various countries and perspectives of future cooperation were discussed. At the meeting the President of Latvia talked about the important role and the possibilities of the State Audit Office in public finance management sphere.
The Forum of the Supreme Audit Institutions of Eastern Partnership and EU member states was organized by the State Audit Office of Latvia within the framework of the project – Capacity Building of the Ukraine, Moldova and Georgia supreme audit institutions in the integration process of International Standards of Supreme Audit Institutions (ISSAI). The goal of the project is the institutional development of the SAIs of these countries in line with international audit standards.
