Memorandum signed with the National Audit Office of Finland 04 April, 2019

A Memorandum of Mutual Understanding was signed between the Supreme Audit Institutions of Georgia and Finland. The MoU was signed by Auditors General Irakli Mekvabishvili and Tytti Yli-Viikari in Helsinki.

Sharing mutual cooperation and experience between the Georgian and Finnish Supreme Audit Institutions was initiated at the beginning of March at the EUROSAI-ASOSAI Conference in Jerusalem. At the conference, the Auditor General of the National Audit Office of Finland expressed interest in the mechanism of recommendations monitoring. Auditor General of the State Audit Office of Georgia Irakli Mekvabishvili held presentation as well on this issue at the conference.

The memorandum signed by Auditors General of the two countries in Helsinki, envisages sharing of experience in different directions of audit activities.

Within the scope of the visit, meetings were held at the National Audit Office of Finland, where the Auditors General of the respective countries discussed the issues of audit, risk-based audit planning and quality assurance, impact assessment methodology and practices.

The Georgian Delegation was represented in Latvia and Finland by the SAO Georgia and Budget and Finance Committee of the Parliament of Georgia.

The visit of the delegation was implemented within the framework of the European Union (EU) project "Institutional Strengthening of State Audit Office".
