Meetings in SAO Latvia and the Parliament 02 April, 2019

The members of the delegation of the State Audit Office and the Parliament of Georgia held meetings in the Supreme Audit Institution of Latvia and the Parliament in Riga.

Members of the delegation were hosted by the Auditor General of the State Audit Office of Latvia Elita Krumina. At the meeting, the representatives of the supreme audit institutions of the two countries discussed strategic planning, quality assurance, audit of revenues and other issues related to audit activities.

The delegation of the State Audit Office and the Parliament of Georgia also visited Saeima-Parliament of Latvia. The parties shared experience of cooperation in their countries between the legislative body and the Supreme Audit Institution.

After completion of the meetings in Riga, the delegation left for Helsinki, where a Memorandum of Mutual Cooperation with the National Audit Office of Finland will be signed.

Visit of the State Audit Office and the Parliament of Georgia to Latvia and Finland was initiated within the framework of the European Union (EU) project "Institutional Strengthening of the State Audit Office".

The Georgian delegation is headed by the Chair of the Budget and Finance Committee Irakli Kovzanadze and the Auditor General of the State Audit Office Irakli Mekvabishvili.
