On June 24 of the current year the Chairman of the Chamber of Control of Georgia-Mr.Levan Bezhashvili, Deputy Chairman-Mr.Devi Vepkhvadze, Adviser to the Chairman -Mr.Giorgi Alasania and Head of Legal Department-Ms. Nato Zaalishvili met with the members of EC Microfinancial Assistance Monitoring Group – Mr. Enriko Gianotti and Christian Hiddink.
At the beginning of the meeting the members of EC Monitoring Group spoke about the planned activities, which must be implemented in Georgia.
Mr .Levan Bezhashvili spoke about the role and mission and significance of Chamber of Control, as the highest controlling institution. He made an overview of the new legislation of the Chamber of Control and discussed already implemented and ongoing reforms, institutional changes, staff issues, Code of Ethics, the standards of domestic activities, the new Rules of Procedure, Expertise Service, the Council of Dispute settlement and about all novelties, which are planned to be executed by the Chamber of Control and are dealt with in details in 2009-2011 strategic development plan of the Chamber of Control.
‘Creating of staff training programme is planned and the assistance of our collaborators and donor organisations is necessary for this issue. We want to transform Chamber of Control of Georgia to audit institution, which will be conformable to international standards, will have stainless professional reputation and be taken into consideration by our foreign partners and international audit institutions. Our future success will be dependant on our self-criticism and we must not be afraid of making new steps.”
