The meeting of the representatives of the State Audit Office, Budget Office and the Parliament, organized by (GIZ) was held in the CourtYard Marriott Hotel. Within the framework of the meeting, the parties discussed how the Georgian Parliament should monitor the public finance management of the executive government and how to use the findings of the State Audit Office and Budget Office.
“As far as you know the Budget Office studies the macroeconomic parameters of the budget and also the fiscal environment. As for the State Audit Office, we present audit findings, on the basis of which the MPs can decide how to define the next year budget of agencies as well as they can assess whether or not a ministry has properly carried out different programs and whether there were problems while implementation. After this they will make a decision should they extend a funding of a specific program for an agency or no,” stated Auditor General Lasha Tordia.
