Meeting of the working group established for the development of the asset declaration monitoring system 06 March, 2015

On March 6, the first meeting of the working group established for the development of the asset declaration monitoring system took place in the coordination with the Anti-Corruption Council of the Ministry of Justice, where the State Audit Office was also presented.  The decision regarding the establishment of the working group was made on February 4, 2015, at the session of the anti-corruption interagency coordination council.

 Monitoring of declarations, at the anti-corruption international level is one of the approved important means. That is why the establishment of the above-mentioned institute in Georgia is very important issue. The Georgian government received the recommendations regarding the introduction of the monitoring system, from such international organizations as OECD-ACN and GRECO.

Aim of the establishment of the working group in Georgia is the development of the monitoring mechanism of the current asset declarations system for identifying the correctness and completeness of the information in the declaration added by the high-ranking officials.  Other component of the monitoring system – audit criteria, scope of the audit, bodies responsible for audit, sanctions and other issues related to the declarations were discussed at the meeting.
