Auditor General Irakli Mekvabishvili held meeting with the Deputy Auditor General of the Swedish National Audit Office (SNAO) Magnus Lindell.
The parties discussed the issues under the "Institutional Development Cooperation between Georgian and Swedish Audit Institutions", which will ensure the improvement of the performance audit quality in compliance with ISSAI international standards and principles.
"It is important to continue the partnership with Swedish colleagues in the future. By 2018, we plan to cooperate in several strategic directions, including audit quality assurance, strengthening of performance audit, introduction of IT audit security and infrastructure system,” stated Irakli Mekvabishvili.
The meeting was also attended by the Deputy Auditor General Ekaterine Gazadze, Head of the Performance Audit Department Irakli Tsitsilashvili, Deputy Head of Performance Audit Department Giorgi Kapanadze, Project Manager of the cooperation between Swedish and Georgian SAIs, Senior International Advisor, Amanda Söderlund.
The State Audit Office of Georgia and the Swedish National Audit Office have been actively cooperating within the framework of Memorandum of Understanding since 2010, which is aimed at the institutional development of the State Audit Office of Georgia.
