International watchdog organizations assessed the presidential election at the conference 22 March, 2019

The State Audit Office participated in a conference "Presidential Elections 2018: Experience Received and Future Steps" organized by the Council of Europe and the International Foundation for Electoral Systems.

The Auditor General informed the participants of the conference about the election period and subsequent measures taken by the State Audit Office after this period. 

Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze, Chairman of the Central Election Commission Tamar Zhvania, Minister of Justice Tea Tsulukiani, EU Ambassador to Georgia Carl Hartzell, Head of the OSCE/ODIHR EOM Geert-Hinrich Ahrens addressed participants of the conference, summarizing elections. Elections were also assessed by NGOs and the representatives of opposition political parties.

The Head of the Council of Europe Office in Georgia Cristian Urse and US Ambassador Ross Wilson, Chargé d’affaires opened the conference.
