Finding of the Temporary Parliamentary Commission on the SAO’s activities 05 June, 2018

At the final meeting of the Parliamentary Temporary Commission, conducted financial audit of the State Audit Office voted for and approved the findings dedicated to the 2017 audit of the SAO.

The meeting was convened by the Chair of the Commission, the First Deputy Chair of the Budget and Finance Committee of the Parliament Paata Kvizhinadze. The Commission is staffed by the members of the various factions and representatives of the audit company "Nexia TA".

The Parliamentary Commission and Group of Auditors conducted audit of the State Audit Office in three areas:

  • Audit, assessment, issuance of the SAO’s financial statements and reports;
  • Audit of the compliance of financial activities and financial systems of the State Audit Office following the Georgian legislation;
  • Audit of Internal Control and Internal Audit Function of the State Audit Office.

According to the report, there were no significant deficiencies in the activities of the State Audit Office in 2017, there were no gaps orviolations related to the existing legislation. The State Audit Office has taken into account almost all recommendations of the Commission.

At the final session, the State Audit Office was presented by the Auditor General Irakli Mekvabishvili, Deputy Auditor General Davit Gogichaishvili and Head of Financial and Logistics Department Eka Danelia.
