Delegation of the State Audit Office and the Parliament to visit Latvia and Finland 31 March, 2019

The delegation of the State Audit Office and the Finance and Budget Committee of the Parliament of Georgia has left for Latvia and Finland on a working visit within the scope of  European Union (EU) Project "Institutional Strengthening of the State Audit Office".

Members of the delegation will hold meetings in the State Audit Office of Latvia, where issues related to the strategic planning, quality assurance and revenue audit will be discussed. Members of the Georgian delegation will also visit the Parliament of Latvia and share experience regarding cooperation with the representatives of the legislative body.

From Latvia, the Georgian delegation is going to visit Helsinki as well and hold meetings with the Finnish National Audit Office. Auditor Generals of Finland and Georgia Tytti Yli-Viikari and Irakli Mekvabishvili will sign Memorandum of Understanding.

The idea of sharing cooperation and experience between the supreme audit institutions of Georgia and Finland emerged at the beginning of March, within the EUROSAI-ASOSAI Joint Conference held in Jerusalem.

The Georgian delegation is headed by the Chair of the Budget and Finance Committee Irakli Kovzanadze and the Auditor General of the State Audit Office Irakli Mekvabishvili.
