On December 5, 2013, the conference on “Value-for-money in the public sector” was organized by the GIZ and the State Audit Office of Georgia.
Representatives of the State Audit Office of Georgia, Ministry of Finance of Georgia, Parliamentary Financial-Budgetary Committee, line ministries and budget planning departments of the spending agencies as well as international experts took part in this conference.
Goal of the conference was sharing of experience in the performance audit sphere and increase of the value-for money in the public sector.In 2012, the State Audit Office published first reports of the performance audit, which were prepared according to the international standards.Before the publishing of the reports, audit methodology was worked out and training of the State Audit Office staff took place.
