In May, 2013, Public Audit Institute started launching certification process of the public sector audit service for those persons, who would like to perform audit in public sectors.
This certification process was held for the first time in Georgia and is very important for the development of this sphere.
38 persons expressed their wish to get certificates. They passed through the two-month special qualification course and after which, 32 persons have successfully passed the certification exams. 5-year certifications were awarded to participants of this course by the Auditor General of the State Audit Office Lasha Tordia.
Certification process will take place in the future as well. Continuous compulsory education program as well as quality control system will be set up for the ensuring of the high quality of the public sector audit service.
