The second day of the International Conference on "Emerging Issues and Emerging Priorities", which is attended by the delegation of the State Audit Office of Georgia, taking place in Israel.
230 delegates from 45 countries, including 21 auditor generals have been taking part in conference.
Auditors General of Finland, Portugal, South Korea, Estonia, Lithuania and Georgia held presentations on the innovations and challenges of the SAIs of their own countries.
Auditor General of SAOG Irakli Mekvabishvili presented on the performance of the State Audit Office of Georgia and the use of the Information and Communication Technology System (ICT) and its contribution to safety. Irakli Mekvabishvili talked about the new technological mechanism, which will ensure the involvement of the stakeholders in monitoring of the implementation of recommendations issued by the SAOG and improvement of parliamentary oversight, as well as its use while conducting the IT and performance audits; involvement in international projects and other topical issues.
After the presentations, Georgian delegation had bilateral meetings with the auditor generals of different countries participating in the conference.
The delegation of the SAOG was represented at the EUROSAI-ASOSAI Conference by the Auditor General of the State Audit Office Irakli Mekvabishvili, Deputy Auditor General Eka Ghazadze, Head of the State Budget and Strategic Analysis Department Tsotne Karkashadze and Head of International and Donor Relations Nino Kereselidze.
