Auditor General delivered a speech at the conference 13 February, 2018

Auditor General Irakli Mekvabishvili delivered a speech at the conference "Parliamentary Oversight in Georgia - Legislation, Practice and Perspectives" organized by the Transparency International-Georgia.

According to the Auditor General, active cooperation with the Parliament is a strategic goal of the State Audit Office and one of its priorities. Audit Office is an effective tool for the Parliament to carry out effective supervision over the activities of the executive branch.

Accordingly, the State Audit Office actively cooperates with the legislative body and discusses audit findings within the Budget and Finance Committee working group. The Audit Office plans to submit proposals to the Parliament to implement systematic recommendations.

The conference was attended by the Deputy Auditor General Eka Ghazadze, US Ambassador to Georgia Ian Kelly, Head of the NATO Liaison Office in Georgia Rosaria Puglisi, Deputy Chairman of the Parliament Tamar Chugoshvili, Chairmen of Parliamentary Committees, Public Defender and other invited guests.
