The State Audit Office of Georgia participated in the annual meeting of the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions’ (INTOSAI) Working Group on Public Debt (WGPD), held in Bucharest and hosted by the Supreme Audit Institution of Romania.
The mission of WGPD is to advance the highest standards in audit of public debt and promote sound practices for debt management practices worldwide.
At the annual meeting, Lasha Kelikhashvili, head of the budget analysis division, moderated the panel discussion on “Legal and Institutional Aspects of Public Debt Management.” Budget analyst Giorgi Karkashadze shared the SAO’s experience with representatives of Supreme Audit Institutions.
The meeting was attended by approximately 70 representatives from SAIs of 24 countries. The next meeting will be hosted by Egypt in 2026, and by Georgia in 2027.
