Giorgi Kapanadze, Head of Performance Audit Department of the State Audit Office (SAO), participated in the 16th Annual Conference of the INTOSAI Performance Audit Subcommittee (PAS) in Bucharest (Romania).
The conference dedicated to assessing the implementation of existing initiatives within the framework of the INTOSAI Strategic Development Plan, ways to improve the current activities of the Performance Audit Subcommittee, and the preparatory work for the PAS work plan 2026–2028, where future priorities and improving existing processes were discussed.
Representatives of the Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) also shared best practices and experiences in their organizations. Giorgi Kapanadze, Head of the Performance Audit Department, delivered a presentation to the conference participants on the performance audit of “Ensuring Gender Equality in General Education”, in which he emphasized the key findings and the methodology used in the audit process.
Hosted by the SAI of Romania and chaired by the SAI of Ireland, along with 35 members of the subcommittee the meeting was attended by the representatives of international organizations and stakeholders, including ECA, IDI, AFROSAI-E.
Since 2015, the State Audit Office of Georgia has been actively participating in the activities of the PAS, including updating the guidance documents, professional standards and fundamental auditing principles.
Last year, the SAO hosted the 15th Annual INTOSAI PAS Conference in Tbilisi, which was attended by 50 SAI representatives from 30 countries.
