The State Audit Office shared its experiences with the participants of the regional forum 10 October, 2024

Giorgi Kekelishvili, Head of the General State Services Audit Department, participated in the regional forum "Public Sector Accounting" organized by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), in the city of Manila, Philippines.

The topics of the forum with participation of experts from the Supreme Audit Institutions of 20 countries, ministries of finance and international organizations discussed the 2024-2028 strategy developed by the IPSAS Standards Board, accrual accounting according to the International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS) and shared best practices for the implementation of these standards. Participants shared the experiences of their organizations on the challenges in the implementation of IPSAS standards.

The State Audit Office is going to conduct the audit of the consolidated financial statements of the government from the next year, and in this regard it is important for the SAO to learn about the experiences of the countries participating in the forum.

International experts presented to the participants of the forum new approaches to audit activity - an explanatory note on climate change in reporting, sustainability reporting and the role of SAIs in the reporting process. The experts also presented the results of the Public Sector Accounting Assessment Framework (PULSE) to the attendees.
