The head of the Economic Activity Audit Department, Tornike Shermadini, participated as a speaker at an international webinar alongside representatives from the UK Supreme Audit Institution and the Parliaments of Malta and Sweden. The topic of the webinar was "The Impact of Financial Audits: Using Reports to Improve Budgetary Processes."
The INTOSAI Development Initiative (INTOSAI IDI) and the Inter-Parliamentary Union organized the webinar. The webinar series aims to enhance the use of audit reports in parliamentary processes to strengthen transparency and accountability.
Tornike Shermadini spoke about the significant role of financial audits conducted by the State Audit Office in supporting parliamentary oversight and budgetary processes. In his speech, he paid special attention to the cooperation between the State Audit Office and the Standing audit working group, which ensures the effective use of audit reports.
The webinar was attended by 165 representatives of middle and senior management from supreme audit institutions worldwide. The invitation of a representative from the State Audit Office as a speaker at the international webinar underscores the organization's importance on the international stage.
