Within the scope of the European Union Project "Support to external security sector oversight in Georgia" the auditors from the Defense, Public Order and Security Audit Department shared the experience of Croatia.
Within the framework of the two-day training in Tbilisi, Security sector oversight practice was presented by Zvonko Širić, an expert of the Croatian defense and security audit department, to the auditors.
The training topics were specific issues related to performance, compliance and financial audits in the defense and security sector. At the training, the auditors also introduced information about Croatian security standards and reforms legal framework.
Within the framework of the project financed by the EU, the auditors of the SAO had working and training meetings with SAIs of Swedish and Polish and security sector experts.
The main aim of the project is to strengthen capacities of security supervisory institutions, Parliament, State Audit Office, Public Defender, Special Investigation Service and other actors in security sector supervision.
SAO is a recipient of the EU project "Support to external security sector oversight in Georgia" since 2021.
