State Audit Office of Georgia took part in the concluding event of the World Bank and the European Union's Economic Governance and Fiscal Accountability Program attended by representatives from the World Bank and the Ministry of Finance. The program was carried out with the State Audit Office and the Ministry of Finance, aimed to enhance the institutional capacities of these organizations.
"We have achieved significant results through this project. With the expert involvement of the World Bank, we have prepared a team of auditors who will begin auditing consolidated financial statements of the government next year. Additionally, with the project's support, SAO conducted its first financial audit of tax revenues in 2022, which repeated this year. It is also noteworthy that we had productive collaboration with international audit firm EY in both theoretical and practical aspects of IT audit," mentioned the Auditor General.
The technical assistance project for strengthening professional capacities has been implemented at the State Audit Office over two years. Representatives from the SAO and the Ministry of Finance presented project's outcomes.
