The State Audit Office of Georgia shared the audit practices of performance audit on emergency management of floods (prevention, preparedness) to the European countries.
At the EUROSAI working group meeting in Warsaw, Phridon Shengelia, Head of the Defense, Public Order and Security Audit Department and Giorgi Khitarishvili, Deputy Head of the Department, presented the results, findings and issued recommendations from the performance audit on emergency flood management (prevention, preparedness) with indications of statuses for their implementation to colleagues from the European Council of Auditors, Poland, Albania, Bulgaria, Italy, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Ukraine, Moldova, and Estonia.
The workshop was held under the supervision of Poland SAI and the leadership of the Accounting Chamber of Ukraine.
At the end of the workshop, the members of the group visited one of Warsaw's fire station, where they were acquainted with equipment used during emergencies and an emergency response protocol. At the closing ceremony of the conference, representatives from Ukraine presented the main challenges faced in modern times regarding the development of disaster prevention and elimination.
