The Standing Audit Group of the Parliament discussed three audit reports 18 March, 2024

The Standing Working Group on Audit Reports in the Parliament convened a regular session where the members of the group discussed three audit reports.

Mariam Zaalishvili, Head of the Social Sector Audit Department, presented a Compliance Audit Report of Public Procurements implemented by the National Agency for the Protection of Cultural Heritage of Georgia to the members of the group. The auditees agreed with the findings of the audit report and spoke about the implementation plan for the recommendations.

The auditors also presented two performance audit reports to the MPs. Giorgi Kapanadze, the Head of the Performance Audit Department, deliberated about the „Performance Audit Report of Ensuring accessibility of Broadband Internet Connection“, and Mariam Zaalishvili, presented the „Performance Audit Report of General Education Model“. The presentations included the findings, challenges and recommendations.

The auditees - the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development and the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth, shared the recommendations issued by the auditors and presented a plan of measures necessary to implement the recommendations.

The meeting of the Standing Working Group on Audit Reports was attended by Becky K. Kennedy and Stephen Lord, experts from the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) Center for Audit Excellence (CAE), who are on a two-weeks study visit to the State Audit Office over the trainings for auditors.
