Hosted by the State Audit Office, the annual meeting of the INTOSAI Performance Audit Subcommittee (PAS) was convened in Tbilisi, attended by 50 representatives of the Supreme Audit Institutions from 30 countries, including INTOSAI IDI Deputy Director General Archana Shirsat.
The Auditor General Tsotne Kavlashvili, in his opening address, underlined the importance of the working of the PAS and the involvement of the SAO in this process.
„Performance audit is a priority direction of the State Audit Office and we are thus an active member of the PAS. We aim to gradually increase the share of performance audits in the audit activity and at the same time, to ensure the coverage of the main state sectors. The PAS aims to promote effective auditing by SAIs and support the members to develop their own professional approaches following their mandates. Now we have the honor to host this valuable event and contribute to the achievement of PAS goals”, said Tsotne Kavlashvili.
on the two-day meeting, the progress of the INTOSAI PAS activities was discussed and sharing audit innovative practices and experiences.
Giorgi Kapanadze, Head of the Performance Audit Department, informed the participants about the progress of the State Audit Office in the professional development of performance auditors and on raising the quality of performance audits.
The State Audit Office has been actively participating in the activities of the INTOSAI PAS since 2015 and is involved in updating and synchronizing professional standards and basic auditing principles.
