New measures have been planned within the scope of the EU Project "Support to external security sector oversight in Georgia" 29 January, 2024

Within the scope of the European Union Project "Support to external security sector oversight in Georgia" a working meeting has been held at the State Audit Office.

Auditor General Tsotne Kavlashvili and Deputy Auditor General Sophio Dvalishvili discussed with the team leader of the Project, Johan Hommes activities  implemented in 2022-2023 and to be implemented this year with the involvement of the State Audit Office.

Last year, within the framework of the project supported by the EU and coordination with the SAI of Poland, were held workshops to strengthen the State Audit Office in the direction of the audit of law enforcement agencies.

This year, it is planned to share the experience of the Swedish Supreme Audit Institution in financial and performance audits of the security sector, and training for auditors on specific issues.

SAO is a recipient of the EU project "Support to external security sector oversight in Georgia" since 2021.

The meeting was also been attended Tsotne Karkashadze, Head of the State Budget and Strategic Analysis Department, Giorgi Khitarishvili, Deputy head of the Defense, Public Order and Security Audit Department, and Salome Kiladze, the Project Officer from the EU project.
