ASOSAI working group meeting, in connection with the audit of the infectious disease prevention program, was hosted in Hanoi, Vietnam. The meeting was attended by Nino Shubitidze, the lead auditor of the Social Sector Audit Department of the SAO along with representatives of 23 SAIs.
A World Health Organization expert workshop was held for members of the working group on current and fundamental health topics, including health system sustainability and importance in addressing infectious disease threats; Infectious disease risks and prevention mechanisms, health programs, including national infectious disease programs, and others.
Trainers also presentated on healthcare audit topics to the participants of the training seminar: performance audit planning, big data and analysis, audit design-matrix, its structure and elements, report preparation and development of recommendations.
The main topic of discussion at the working meeting was the covid pandemic, its challenges, countries' readiness and consequences. The participants discussed the recommendations of the World Health Organization regarding the development of sustainable health systems, preventive measures and the role of audit in this process. The participants shared their countries' experiences of conducting post-pandemic audits. It should be noted that the State Audit Office has prepared two reports on the topic of the Covid-19 pandemic - "Distance Learning at Public Schools" and " Continuity of health Services During the Covid-19 Pandemic".
Workshops were held in interactive mode for two weeks. Group discussions were held regarding the healthcare auditing, participating auditors completed group and individual practical tasks and made presentations.
