STATE AUDIT OFFICE OF GEORGIA

Professional trainings of World Bank experts for auditors 14 November, 2023

World Bank experts convened professional trainings for auditors regarding auditing consolidated financial statements and quality management of financial audits.

It is noteworthy that the State Audit Office is intending to conduct an audit of the consolidated financial statements of the state in 2024, thereby assessing the accuracy of the consolidated financial statements in relation to the basis of preparation, and  the internal control systems of various sectoral ministries.

The project is implemented in the State Audit Office with the support of the World Bank, within the scope of the technical assistance project of the „Economic Governance and Fiscal Accountability“ programme of the European Union and aims to strengthen audit activities.

In the first phase of the project, the auditors were trained in the revenue audit planning, risk assessment and tax revenue accounting. It should be noted that the State Audit Office conducted an audit of tax revenues for the first time in 2022.

The trainings were led by World Bank invited experts Wayne Bartlett and Zurab Mamukelashvili.
