The Working Group on Audit Reports at the Parliament discussed two audit reports 27 September, 2023

The Standing Working Group on Audit Reports at the Parliament discussed two audit reports related to the compliance activities of the Georgia National Handball Federation and the performance of Disease Prevention (Cancer Screening).

Mariam Zaalishvili, Head of the Social Sector Audit Department presented the findings and recommendations of the audit on state procurement and internal control weaknesses of the National Handball Federation to the members of the Working Group. On their part, the representatives of the auditees discussed the violations laid out in the report and the status of implementation of respective recommendations.

Giorgi Kapanadze, Head of the Performance Audit Department, elaborated on the violations and recommendations identified within the scope of the Performance Audit Report on the Disease Prevention, in particular, the Cancer Screening Programs, focusing on the issues of increasing population's involvement in the program and coordination with the stakeholders. Representatives of the Ministry of Health and the National Center for Disease Control noted about sharing the recommendations issued by the auditors, and about majority of them being implemented.

Deputy Auditor General Sophio Dvalishvili, state auditors, representatives of the parliamentary select committee and audit entities attended the meeting of the Working Group reviewing audit reports.
