The Auditor General presented the 2022 Annual Performance Report of the SAO and the Report on the Government’s Report on the Annual Execution of State Budget 28 June, 2023

The Auditor General Tsotne Kavlashvili presented the 2022 Annual Performance Report of the State Audit Office to the Parliament. The report outlines the main results of the audit and organizational activities and the SAO’s Strategic Development Plan for 2023-2027. 

In 2022, the SAO conducted 47 audits, including: 14 - financial, 23 - compliance, 3 - interagency compliance and 7 - performance audits. The conducted audits covered more than 20 billion GEL, and the SAO maintained the coverage rate of the consolidated budget at 90%. The total value of violations identified as a result of the audit amounted to 24 million GEL, which includes issues related to the management of budgetary resources, procurement and assets. Due to the high-risk circumstances, the corresponding materials of 17 audit reports were sent to the Prosecutor's Office for further response.

The Auditor General also presented the SAO’s Report on the Government’s Report on the Annual Execution of 2022 State Budget. The report outlines systemic issues, which should be taken into account to improve the budget planning/implementation process and the public finance management system.
