A conference of the INTOSAI Performance Audit Subcommittee was held in Dublin 03 April, 2023

Giorgi Kapanadze, Head of Performance Audit Department of the State Audit Office, participated in the 14th Annual Conference of the INTOSAI Performance Audit Subcommittee (PAS) in Dublin (Ireland).

Over the conference, at the workshops was discussed the joint initiative of the Performance Audit Professional Standards Subcommittee (PSC) and the INTOSAI Professional Pronouncements (FIPP) about updating professional standards and basic auditing principles (including the Performance Audit Standard (ISSAI3000)) and their synchronization.

Representatives of the Supreme Audit Institutions of the USA, Norway and India shared their experiences on modern practices of performance auditing, among them, data analysis-visualization to better reflect statistics; benefits of creating DATA LAB for Supreme Audit Institutions; examples of the use of various technologies - drones, GIS data, satellite imaging to increase productivity and accuracy of audit procedures.

The 14th Conference of the PAS was attended by the representatives of international organizations and stakeholders, such as European Court of Auditors – ECA, IDI, AFROSAI-E along with 30 members of the sub-committees.

The INTOSAI PAS ensures the updating/modernization of auditing standards, development of guidance documents and sharing best practices. The State Audit Office has been actively participating in the activities of the subcommittee since 2012.
