State Audit Office visits the Supreme Audit Office of Poland (NIK) within the scope of the EU Project 28 April, 2023

Within the scope of the European Union project "Support to external security sector oversight in Georgia" working meetings took place in Poland that also entailed familiarizing with the working of state agencies and sharing best practices.

The delegation of the State Audit Office participated in the meetings over the three-day visit, whereas the representatives of the Supreme Audit Office of Poland introduced them to the best practices of strategic planning, organizational management, budget performance analysis and audits in security sector and shared their experiences.

Workshops were also convened at  the Ministry of Finance of Poland. The representatives of the Ministry introduced the employees of the State Audit Office to the practices of financial accounting and budget execution in the public sector and discussed common experiences.

The Chairman of the Audit Committee of the Sejm of the Poland shared with the members of the delegation the existing practices of the Parliament's engagement with the Supreme Audit Institution, review of reports, implementation of recommendations.

The primary aim of the project "Support to external security sector oversight in Georgia" funded by the European Union is to strengthen the capacities of the security oversight institutions, Parliament, State Audit Office, Public Defender, Special Investigation Service and other actors in security sector oversight.

The project has been running since October 2021 and will continue until October 2024 implemented by B&S Europe - in the format of a consortium with PMCG and GCSD.
