The State Audit Office, with the support of the World Bank, has moved to the next phase of the EU technical assistance project 21 April, 2023

With the support of the World Bank, within the framework of the "Technical Assistance Project of the European Union Economic Governance and Fiscal Accountability Program" a working meeting has been held at the State Audit Office.

Auditor General Tsotne Kavlashvili informed the delegation of the World Bank headed by the organization's representative Patrick Umah Tete, about the activities implemented within the project and discussed directions of the next stage of the project.

This year, within the framework of the project supported by the World Bank and the European Union, professional development of the auditors in IPSAS standards and auditing of consolidated financial statements of the government are also planned.

In the first phase of the "Technical Assistance Project of the European Union Economic Governance and Fiscal Accountability Program", the state auditors participated in the working meetings with World Bank experts on revenue audit, planning and risk assessment, accounting of the tax revenues, strengthening quality control in IT audit and other audit related activities.

The meeting was also been attended by the Deputy Auditor General Sophio Dvalishvili, Head of State Budget and Strategic Analysis Department Tsotne Karkashadze and Head of Performance Audit Department Giorgi Kapanadze, World Bank Economist Mariam Dolidze, Consultant Zurab Mamukelashvili, and other World Bank representatives who joined the participants online from the World Bank headquarters Dmitry Gourfinkel and the expert Wayne Bartlett.
