The Parliament’s Working Group discussed the audit report on "Georgian Railway" 28 March, 2023

The Standing Working Group on Audit Reports in the Parliament of Georgia discussed the 2020-2021 procurement audit report of the JSC "Georgian Railway". The scope of the audit covered electronic tenders, special procedures, and simplified procurement.

Tornike Shermadini, the Head of the Economic Activities Audit Department introduced the findings and recommendations of the report to the members of the Working Group. In the report, four recommendations have been presented to the auditee and the LEPL State Procurement Agency. The recommendations refered to the procurement legislation deficiencies, inconsistency of the contract performance guarantee with the terms of the electronic procedure, the risk of irrational spending of funds, and the shortcomings of market research.

The representatives of "Georgian Railway" informed the MPs and members of the audit group about the status the recommendations implementation and answered the questions of the members of the Working Group.
