The official edition of the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI Journal) published an article on the performance audit conducted by the State Audit Office of Georgia (SAOG) "Distance Learning at Public Schools".
The article summarizes conclusions made by the SAOG regarding the response measures taken during the pandemic for ensuring continuous education as well as possible long term effects.
The publication reveals the value created within the recommendations issued by SAOG and the room for improvement of the existing processes. As a result of the audit report, several recommendations serve to improve governance of future possible emergency situations, proper preparedness and response measures. In addition, SAOG emphasizes the opportunity to use the experience gained from distance learning to address the pre-pandemic challenges in the sector general education.
The Performance Audit "Distance Learning at Public Schools" is one of the pilot projects conducted with support of the USAID, with the involvement of the experts from the Center for Audit Excellence (CAE) of the US Government Accountability Office (GAO) to foster recommendations impact assessment practices.
