At the session of the Standing Audit Group of the Budget and Finance Committee of the Parliament Reviewing the Reports of the State Audit Office have discussed compliance and performance audit reports.
Tornike Shermadini, the Head of the Economic Activities Audit Department presented the results, findings and recommendations of the audits conducted in the field of agriculture to the members of the group.
The findings in the compliance audit report of the "NCLE - Rural Development Agency" project - "Plant the Future" related to the registration and systematization of applications, as well as gaps in the shortcomings, seedling cultivation process, control mechanisms, plant nursery co-financing component, programme budget planning and reporting. Tornike Shermadini also spoke about the recommendations issued based on the findings and the benefits received as a result of their implementation.
In the report “Food Safety State Programme Measures and Subsequent Response Performance Audit” the shortcomings related to risk assessment in the field of food safety are discussed with the gaps in the electronic state control management programme and the disclosure of detected violations. Six recommendations have been issued within the report.
Auditees also attending the meeting of the working group, presented the status of implementation of the recommendations and information about the implemented recommendations. The members of the audit group and the auditees answered the questions of the MPs.
