US Ambassador to Georgia Kelly Degnan and the USAID Mission Director John Pennell visited the State Audit Office 07 November, 2022

At the State Audit Office, the Auditor General Tsotne Kavlashvili hosted an introductory meeting with the US Ambassador to Georgia HE Ms Kelly Degnan and the USAID Mission Director, Mr John A. Pennell.

The Auditor General informed them about the status of the ongoing projects with USAID and presented proposals for prospective cooperation.

The State Audit Office, within the scope of the USAID governance program, together with the US Government Accountability Office (GAO), has been implementing audit related support and institutional strengthening projects.

In particular, for assessing the impact of performance audit findings, the auditors have attended the GAO International Auditor Fellowship Programe with the Center for Audit Excellence (CAE) of the GAO.

Also, one pilot audit has been conducted and two pilot audits are being prepared in order to assess the impact of the findings and recommendations made within the scope of the performance audit.

The Auditor General presented to the Ambassador the SAI PMF reassessment results of the State Audit Office, according to which the Office has received high score with the SAI-PMF in professional and organizational development.

On the other hand, US Ambassador to Georgia HE Kelly Degnan and the USAID Mission Director John Pennell expressed their support to the State Audit Office in the process of implementing current and prospective projects.
