The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Germany to Georgia Hubert Knirsch visited the State Audit Office today meeting with the Auditor General Irakli Mekvabishvili and the Deputy Auditor General Ekaterine Ghazadze.
The parties expressed their solidarity towards Ukraine against the backdrop of the current events prior to the meeting.
Ambassador Knirsch and the Auditor General Irakli Mekvabishvili discussed the progress and results of the projects implemented by the State Audit Office in cooperation with the German Development Agency (GIZ). With this, Georgia and Ukraine participated together in the vary regional project implemented by the GIZ “Strengthening the capacity of Supreme Audit Institutions in the Eastern Partnership countries” and have been conducting common parallel audits.
Prospects for continuous cooperation and relevant scope has also been discussed during the meeting.
On their part, the management of the SAO shared with the Ambassador the current audit plan and other respective auditory matters.
